TOPSHAM
Bedderrest Mattresses and Furniture has announced plans to open a new store in the Topsham Fair Mall in early February.
Bedderrest is a locally owned Maine family business celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. The new store will specialize in made in Maine and American-made mattresses and furniture for your home, including indoor and outdoor furniture.
Bedderrest got its start in the early 1990s selling mattresses and futons in the Auburn and South Portland markets, selling every major brand including Simmons Beautyrest, Sealy Posturepedic, Serta and Tempur-pedic mattresses.
John Larson, co-owner of Topsham Fair Mall, said, “We are truly delighted to welcome Bedderrest to Topsham Fair Mall. This high-quality furniture store fills an important retail category here and we are gratified to be working with yet another Maine-based business, particularly because Bedderrest features both Maine-made and American-made products.”
Larson added, “The addition of Bedderrest between our Renys and Lamey Wellehan demonstrates that it is still possible for local retail businesses not only to survive, but thrive. We are very proud of the fact that three-quarters of the mall stores are Maine-owned or Maine-based, and we appreciate the loyalty and support Midcoast shoppers have shown for these fine businesses.”
