TOPSHAM — Brian E. Maynard, 69, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, January 11th, 2017 in Freeport. Brian was born October 30, 1947 in Brunswick to Andrew Robert and Edith (Nickerson) Maynard.

Brian grew up in Pejepscot where at a very young age he worked for neighbors Cleave and Lulu Bickford. At the age of ten years he went to work for his father A.R. Maynard, Inc. Brian attended Brunswick High School graduating with the class of 1966. He served with the United States Navy from July of 1966 to October of 1969, doing two tours of duty in Vietnam with the U.S. Navy’s CB’s. In May of 1970, Brian started Topsham Mobile Home Sales, Inc. Brian later purchase the Topsham Mobile Home Park, Inc., a business that his father, Andrew, had started.

On October 29th, 1971, Brian married Gloria M.A. (White) Maynard in Pejepscot. Brian was a member of the Elks Lodge #2043 of Brunswick for 48 years. He had a love for red Mack Trucks and heavy equipment; a love which he has passed on to his son and grandsons.

Brian is survived by his wife of 45 years, Gloria M.A. (White) Maynard, of Topsham; his daughter, Michelle L. Maynard of Durham; his son Andrew A. Maynard, and his wife, Amy, of Topsham and his grandsons, Aidan and Alden Maynard. He is also survived by two sisters, Andrea Childress of Windham, NH, and Leanne Chenard and her husband Ron, of Freeport, several nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00am Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Brunswick. Visiting hours will be from 5-8pm Monday January 16, at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St. in Brunswick.
