SANFORD — Claudette R. Thibodeau, 78, died Monday, Jan. 2, 2017, at Greenwood Center in Sanford surrounded by her family.

She was born on May 11, 1938, to Robert and Anna (Cote) Tardif in Biddeford. She attended Biddeford schools and graduated from St. Andre High School, Class of 1957.

She started work at Beneficial Finance in Biddeford, where she remained for two years. She went to Pepperell Mfg. Co. for two years followed by Butler’s Dept. Store for two years. She went on to Southridge Living Center where she was a cook before moving on to AVX Tantalum Corp. for nine years. She then worked at King’s Dept. store in Biddeford for a short period. In 1990, she started at Sweester Children’s Services as a youth and family counselor.

She was a member of St. Joseph Church. She loved doing her home crafts and cooking. She enjoyed traveling and going to the beach. She also enjoyed dancing, playing cards and her daily walks.

Claudette is survived by: two sons, Brian R. Thibodeau and his girlfriend, Brenda Caron, of Sanford and  Marc R. Thibodeau and his wife, Laurie, of Biddeford; a sister, Nancy A. Hoctor and husband, Robert, of Biddeford; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, Jan., 13, 2017, at Hope Memorial Chapel 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford.
