SACO — Thomas E. Charron, 72, of Saco, passed away on Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, at home.

He was born in Biddeford on Aug. 12, 1944, a son of Gerald and Rose (Lambert) Charron.

Tom graduated from Thornton Academy, Class of 1963. After high school, he served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1963-1967, during the Vietnam era.

 Tom was employed by General Dynamics in Saco as a mechanical engineer for over 30 years, retiring in 1998. 

He was a member of the American Legion, Voltigeur Club and Disabled American Veterans.

Tom was an accomplished woodworker. He also enjoyed fishing, camping and playing cards. He liked to follow the New England Patriots and learn about military history.

Tom was known for his infectious laugh, his sense of humor and especially his bad dad jokes.

He was always willing to help others, expecting nothing in return. He will be sadly missed.

 He was preceded in death by his sister, Geraldine Charron in 2003. 

He is survived by: three children, Stacy Peterson and her husband, Doug, Tom G. Charron and his wife, Danielle, and Jodi Charron and her husband, Dan Perry seven grandchildren, Jackie, Nikoles, Jakob, Andrew, Emily, Austin and Matthew; and his companion of 10 years, Judy Rowe. 

Visiting hours will be from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, 87 James St., Saco. Burial will be private in the spring in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford.
