
Artist Maria Castellano-Usery will continue her ongoing philanthropy work on Saturday with a pop-up art show and “Paint-a-Thon,” complete with a raffle featuring a finished painting as a prize, at Selby Shoes Etc. in South Portland.
Castellano-Usery will set up her easel at Selby Shoes Etc. and have a day-long “Paint-a-Thon” from 10 a.m. To 6 p.m. Raffle tickets for the completed acrylic painting will be sold both in person and online for $5 each or 3 for $10. The winning ticket will be drawn Saturday evening. Castellano- Usery will donate 50 percent of the proceeds from ticket sales to the Press Herald Toy Fund. Additionally, 10 percent of all art sales from Castellano- Usery’s “pop-up” art show at Selby Shoes Etc., excluding magnets, will be donated to the Press Herald Toy Fund.
This is the 13th event in Castellano- Usery’s “Paint-a-Thon” series, where she works with local businesses to raise money for charities. In total, Castellano-Usery has raised more than $2150 for national and local charities.
