OLD ORCHARD BEACH—George R. Horne, 77, of Old Orchard Beach, died on Sunday Dec. 4 at St. Peters Hospital in New York.
George was born in Biddeford on Sept. 5, 1939, the son of Harold and Doris Horne.
George worked 23 years for Old Orchard Public Works then moved to Greenwick, N.Y. and lived and worked there.
He enjoyed riding horses and going to county fairs, also owned a couple of horses.
He will be missed by the friends and staff at Barnwell Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Valatic, N.Y.
He is survived by a sister, Karen Horne of Rochester, New Hampshire, a brother, Harold Horne of Old Orchard Beach, and brother, Robert Cressey of New York City.
At his request there will be no services.
