Local S6, Bath Iron Works’ largest union, on Wednesday announced the results of the election of new officers, with Mike Keenan returning as president.

Keenan will be replacing current president Rich Nolon.

Keenan was first elected to the president’s post in 2001 and re-elected every three years after that. He was removed from office by officials with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers for financial impropriety and pornography on work computers; claims that Keenan has denied. Keenan was barred from running for union office for four years following his removal.

Nolon, who did not run for re-election as president, tied in the race for chief steward Hardings with Rob Jacobs. A runoff election will be scheduled in the near future.

Rocky Grenier was elected as vice president, and Jason Perry and Shawn Tardiff will serve as secretary-treasurer and conductor sentinel, respectively. Tom Darling, Jeff Segars and Ray Bilodeau were elected as trustees and Ray Gauthier was elected as chief steward Bath.

The newly elected officials will take on their new responsibilities in January.
