BEVERLY, Mass. — Rachel Hanna scored with 2:37 elapsed in overtime to lift Endicott College to a 3-2 come-from-behind win over the University of New England in a Commonwealth Coast Conference women’s soccer match played Wednesday night (Oct. 19) under the lights at Hempstead Stadium.

In a battle of two of the top teams in the CCC standings, Endicott upped its record to 11-2-2 overall and 6-1-0 in conference play. The Nor’easters dipped to 9-4-1, 5-1-1 in league games.

Hanna’s golden goal came off an Endicott corner kick from the left side. Larissa Cade sent a high, bending service into the front of the goal mouth that Hanna headed home for her seventh score of the season and fourth game-winning tally.

Trailing 2-1, the Gulls had tied the match on a goal by Lexi Burgess in the 79th minute.

UNE jumped out to a 1-0 advantage with the lone tally of the first half when Edie Pallozzi converted a penalty kick in the 28th minute after an Endicott hand-ball in the box.

The Gulls evened the score midway through the second frame (68th minute) as Sharlotte Pernice directed a high shot into the right-hand corner of the net.

Jessica Meader responded for the Nor’easters just over a minute later, receiving a feed from Katie Beaudoin and drilling home a shot for her third goal in the last three matches.

The game was tightly-contested all evening with the Gulls holding a slight advantage in shots at 20-15.

Caroline Armbruster recorded six saves in goal for Endicott, while Brielle Robinson had five for UNE.
