OGUNQUIT — The Ogunquit Playhouse is holding auditions for the coming production of Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast,” to be presented at the Music Hall in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

The character role being sought is Chip (age 8-12 years old). Chip is an inquisitive little teacup who is the son of Mrs. Potts.

Auditions will take place 3-5 p.m. Sunday in the Colony Rehearsal Space at the Ogunquit Playhouse. To schedule an appointment, contact associate producer Brian Swasey. Rehearsals begin on Nov. 14.

“Beauty and the Beast” opens on Nov. 30 and closes on Dec. 18.

Music and scenes will be provided in advance of the audition. An accompanist will be provided on site. Performers may bring a picture with a resume stapled to the back.

Actors must be available for the rehearsal period and to perform in all shows during the run. The role may be double-cast, which will split the performances equally between two actors.
