From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “A merry blaze was discovered in the law office of Robert B. Seidel in the Hill block at the corner of Main and Alfred Streets this morning, about 8:20 o’clock, and while a pedestrian was trying to send in an alarm from box 57, Clinton C. Palmer, the attorney, who has a desk in the office, and who discovered the fire, was able to get the best of the blaze and prevented the firemen from being called by a bell alarm.”
