PORTLAND — Frank Ozzella died peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his loved ones on Tuesday, October 4, 2016.

He was born on September 24, 1919 in Milford, MA to the late Joseph and Rose “Lena” Madeline (Beltrame). Frank moved to South Portland, Maine in the early 1940’s where he built ships during WWII. In 1942 he married Beatrice Johnson and they raised Carl and Lucille (Palella) in Bath for decades. He spent his working life building up Ozzella Motors dealership in Bath and Lewiston and gained a reputation as “The Wizard of Ozzella”.

Frank was a loyal Red Sox fan. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and passed to his family a deep respect for the outdoors. He was good at practically everything – dancing, playing bridge, gardening and even remains a salesman into his 90’s as a small engine repairman. He had a social life that most young people desire for their own.

Our dear Frank, who was predeceased by his grandson (Carl Frank Ozzella) and siblings (Philip, Norma, Helen, Lois), leaves behind his beloved Barbara Lee, his son Carl and wife Judith and daughter Lucille and husband Frank, step children, 10 grandchildren, 11 greatgrandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

He lived his life so well, we will miss him dearly. A celebration of his life will take place 11:00am Saturday, October 8th at the Williston-Immanuel United Church ~ 156 High Street ~ Portland, Maine 04101. Arrangements made by the Hobbs Funeral Home 230 Cottage Road South Portland, Maine 04106. Online condolences may be made at www.hobbsfuneralhome.co m.
