Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016 Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day:
We (Charter Review Commission) were granted permission and took advantage of this golden opportunity to convey our positive message to Biddeford registered voters in reference to charter review questions Biddeford voters will be voting on Nov. 8. Your response was overwhelming and extremely gratifying.
We stayed focused to be transparent and earn your trust. We really appreciate your numerous and generous comments. Thank you.
For those Biddeford registered voters who still need more information, please go to the city website (biddefordmaine.org, City Clerk’s Office section, “Election Information”). Once the city clerk receives the official sample ballot from the printer, it will be posted on the website with a direct link to “Sample Ballot.”
We had several Biddeford registered voters tell us how important and needed these recommended charter changes are, as they explained and defined what a charter is – a written document creating and defining the rudimentary rules to exert direction for the management of our city, established by society for society.
Remember, we all benefit from a well-inform voter. Please vote “YES” on the Charter revision questions.
Paul Therrien
Chairman, Biddeford Charter
Review Commission

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
