WEST NEWFIELD — James A. “Jim” Moulton, 45, of West Newfield, died at his home on Friday, Sept. 9, 2016.

Jim was born in Sanford on July 28, 1971, to Allen and Joanna (Taylor) Moulton. He grew up in West Newfield, where he attended local schools, graduating from Massabesic High School in 1989.

Following high school, he attended the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in wood product technology retail management. After finishing college, Jim returned home and went to work at the family business, Moulton Lumber.

Jim had been very active in Boy Scouts, starting as a Cub Scout then on to Boy Scouts, advancing through the ranks to attain the rank of Eagle Scout. When he was older, he served as assistant scout master, then scout master of Troop 322. While in college, he was an active member in Alpha Phi Omega.

Jim loved spending time with family, especially his nieces and nephews. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted son, brother and uncle, and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by: his parents, Allen and Joanna Moulton of West Newfield; his siblings, Kandis Hayes and her husband Shawn of Arundel, and John Moulton and his wife Jenn of West Newfield; his nieces and nephews, Brianna and Elizabeth Hayes, and Caeleigh, Kendrick and Brendan Moulton; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Parsonsfield.
