NEWCASTLE
St. Cecilia Chamber Choir auditions are now open for all voice parts, including youth members.
The choir will be preparing a program of Christmas and winter seasonal music for their annual lessons and carols concerts. Rehearsals begin Sept. 21, at St. Andrew’s Church in Newcastle.
Singers wishing to audition should have good vocal control, and sopranos and altos should be able to sing without vibrato. Tenors and basses need not be able to sing with a straight tone. The ability to read music is preferred, but those who cannot read may participate by spending extra time learning the music at home with the aid of provided practice materials.
Rehearsals take place in Newcastle on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Church. To schedule an audition, call director Linda Blanchard at (207) 380- 2768 or email lindamaine@mac.com. For more information about the choir, visit ceciliachoir.org.
