The Coastal Humane Society is teaming up with Petco of Topsham for All for Saving Lives, a mega adoption weekend on Saturday and Sunday at the Topsham store. Dozens of puppies, kittens, adult dogs and cats, and small animals will be up for adoption beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday.

The weekend is a national adoption event organized by Petco to save lives across shelters all over the country. The Petco Foundation will make an additional donation to Coastal Humane Society for every adoption during the two-day event.

This is the third large-scale adoption event between the Coastal and Petco, and the shelter hopes to find loving new homes for 70 animals, including a large group of dogs and puppies recently rescued from an overcrowded animal facility in Mississippi.

“We are thrilled for another chance to save lives with Petco,” said Jane Siviski, marketing coordinator for Coastal. “Those who plan to attend should prepare themselves for a super cute, large selection of animals looking for new homes. And, if you adopt this weekend, you’ll know you’ve helped the shelter to get a grant that will go to saving more lives at our shelter.”

“We at Petco are excited to be part of another huge adoption event that will result in dozens of pets finding their forever homes,” said Caylen Ayotte, general manager for the Topsham store. Our partnership with the Coastal Humane Society has given us the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our community’s animals. We are proud to call Coastal Humane our adoption partner, and will continue to support each other in our efforts to reduce the number of homeless pets.”

Sneak peeks of the animals that will be available for adoption are posted on Facebook.com/coastalhumanesociety or coastalhumanesociety.org.

The Coastal Humane Society is a 501c3 non-profit charitable organization founded in 1950 that is dedicated to preventing cruelty to animals and providing care and protection for the area’s stray, abandoned and abused animals. The animal shelter serves several townships along mid-coast Maine and cares for more than 2,500 animals per year.
