BRUNSWICK — Gary R. Babine, 71, passed away peacefully on August 20 in a Portland hospital after suffering a rare, fast-progressing neurological disease. He was the son of Gerald and Priscilla Babine.
He graduated from Brunswick High School in Class of 1963 and lived in Maine 57 years of his life.
Gary was very active in the AA Fellowship community celebrating over 31 years of continuous sobriety from alcohol and helping many others with their own sobriety. He enjoyed camping, traveling, was an animal lover, talented woodworker, and enthusiastic biker having built his own motorcycle.
He is survived by his brother Greg Babine and multiple cousins. A celebration of life event will be announced later.
