Rep. Lydia Blume has worked hard for the people and businesses of York over the last two years. She is always well-prepared before speaking, and is clear and effective when arguing on behalf of her constituents.

She has been a particularly strong advocate for issues affecting coastal Maine. She started the first-ever bipartisan coastal caucus, a group of legislators of both parties who represent coastal communities throughout Maine. She recognized that Maine’s coast faces some special and unique challenges, and worked hard to make this an effective group for promoting issues like preparing for sea-level change and improving our fisheries.

She has met with the seasonal businesses that are so important in her district to find out what they need to keep attracting tourists. This led her to propose legislation to help keep beaches cleaner.

She cares about results rather than party affiliation, and is always willing to work with anyone who has good ideas and practical solutions.

Rep. Blume is a valued member of our caucus, and a tireless supporter of coastal Maine and its way of life.

Rep. Jeff McCabe
D-Skowhegan
Maine House majority leader
