Wendy was born in Biddeford on Jan. 8, 1973. The highlight of her mother’s life, she amazed everyone with her inquisitive mind. Never willing to settle for the one-word answer to anything, it was established early on that this child was gifted and had the need to continually learn.
Wendy was raised in the small town of Milton, New Hampshire, where she graduated from Nute High School. She became a licensed cosmetologist.
Wendy was always exceptionally bright and talented. Whether making crafts or making everyone laugh, she excelled in all that she chose to do. Her writings were as intense and beautiful as she was.
Finding peace by the ocean, her spirit was never restricted to any one place. She had the soul of a wanderer, always dreaming of new places and things.
She found her life purpose when she became a mom. She loved wholeheartedly. She will be sadly missed by so many.
Wendy was preceded in death by her mother, Delia Carswell.
She is survived by: two sons; Ronald Cantara and Gauge Cantara; her father, Robert Carswell of Milton Mills, New Hampshire; and many extended family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held 5-9 p.m. Friday, July 22, at the Moose Lodge, 288 White Mountain Highway, Milton, New Hampshire.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
