Big Problem with Mainstream Media

I believe that there is a big problem in this country with the mainstream media. I come home and night and watch the evening news and most of what I see are just terrible stories of bad people doing bad things. I believe it”s time that changed and we started showing stories of the good in the world. Instead of the story where a person is shot down show a story where someone saves a life. Its time that people were reminded of all the good in the world.

Thank You, Wicked Joe’s

I would like to say “Thank You” to Wicked Joe’s Coffee Roasting Facility in Topsham, Maine. I have a guest visiting from Louisiana and decided to take her to Wicked Joe’s to see if we could get a tour and see them roasting coffee! With no advance notice, we show up, ask for a tour, and the kind people working there accommodated us on the spot! We sampled “Summer Time” flavor coffee, viewed them actually loading and roasting coffee beans, and best of all we observed them while performing Q/A testing on the actual product! Who knew coffee roasting was so interesting! Thank you to the staff at Wicked Joe’s who made our day very memorable!

In Support of NRCM

Recently I received a special report from the Natural Resources Council of Maine titled “Governor LePage and Maine’s Environment: A Dismal Record.” The report included LePage’s announcement that he is pursuing a “war” against NRCM and Maine’s environmentalists. It detailed the governor’s actions to destroy the efforts of a bi-partisan coalition of Maine lawmakers to protect our environment which is necessary for our future economy, health and quality of life.

In the past I have written to both the Maine Chamber of Commerce and to the Governor but never received any replies. I wrote to explain that in my many years in Maine as an entrepreneur and owner of a large business in the Augusta area I never experienced any laws which prevented our business from growing at a rate of twenty percent annually. I never had an attitude that to be successful the business climate had to reduce air quality standards, destroy wildlife habitat, allow more pollution and toxic chemicals, and encourage sprawl at a level Maine has never seen. I have a great appreciation of Maine people as providing a very productive, reliable, and loyal workforce who deserve to live without environmental or health issues in our beautiful state.

I enthusiastically support the efforts of the Natural Resources Council of Maine to protect the environment of Maine while at the same time protecting our economy, our health and quality of life. I believe I also speak for the majority of Maine people.
