The Biddeford Boatbuilding Festival will feature eight family and corporate-sponsor teams each building their own 10’ Compass Skiff motor boat in just two days. The festival runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Pepperell Mill Campus Event Space, 2 Main St., Biddeford. There are activities for the whole family. For a closer look at insects join retired science teacher Jon Wallace at the Maine Wildlife Park in Gray from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This exhibit will show some of the world’s largest insects and how they relate to local insects. The 39th Annual Campfire Mass Celebration will be held starting at 1:30 p.m. at Little House of Prayer, 8 Little House of Prayer Dr., Biddeford. Rev. Michael Taylor of Pastor of St. Martin’s Parish in Sommersworth, New Hampshire and Rev. Mark Montminy, Pastor of St. Michael’s Parish in Exeter, New Hampshire will co-celebrate the service.

Confession will be heard throughout the afternoon, and visitors are reminded to bring their own lawn chairs and picnic food and drink.

The Ogunquit Playhouse will present another installment of the post-show discussion series “Spotlight” at 6 p.m. featuring the dynamic creators of the new musical The Hunchback of Notre Dame following the Saturday matinee. The one-hour moderated discussion from the stage will shine the spotlight on director Shaun Kerrison and music director Brent-Alan Huffman. Admission is free to ticket holders of the July 16th matinee or evening performance. Donations will be accepted at the door for all others and seating will be based on availability. The Salvation Army’s Annual Indoor Sale will be held from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the corner of Union Avenue and Sixth Streets in Old Orchard Beach.
