From wooden bowls to real and imagined landscapes to ceramic figures, the artists at the Stable Gallery have put together an eclectic art show in Damariscotta. The show will begin with a public reception on Friday from 5-7 p.m.
The seven artist members of the Stable Gallery organize a new show beginning on the second Friday of each month until the season ends in October. The gallery members and others put their work on display in the former stalls of the once working stable.
Local Damariscotta residents
Priscilla McCandless, who works in oil and watercolor; and Stephen Vowles, who works in wood, top the list of featured artists. The remaining featured artists, including watercolorist Polly Smith; acrylic artists Pamela Hansen and Jennifer Litchfield; ceramicist Laura Freeman and woodworker Steve Ryder each also hail from Maine. Another 30 some artists from away have their work included at the gallery as well.
