HERMON (AP) — Police in Maine have been looking for remains related to a 1980 cold case in the Bangor area.
Bangor police and Maine State Police are looking for the remains of Sharon Smith, who was reported missing in 1980.
WCSH-TV reports officials armed with a search warrant on Thursday searched a property located in the town of Hermon, just outside Bangor.
They are looking for trace evidence, clothing and anything else that might contain DNA, as well as any other evidence related to Smith’s disappearance.
Smith was 25 years old when she disappeared.
