Ogunquit Playhouse 2016 Children’s Theatre will present “Disney’s The Jungle Book, Kids” on July 2 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and July 3 at 10 a.m. The jungle is jumpin’ with a jazzy beat as the exciting Disney classic brings to life the familiar characters and adventures from the movie. Join Mowgli, Baloo, King Louie and the gang as they swing their way through madcap adventures and thwart the ferocious tiger, Shere Kahn. This musical was adapted from the beloved film and includes everyone’s favorite Disney tunes like “The Bare Necessities” and “I Wan’na Be Like You.” This production is ideal for kids of all ages, so be sure to bring the whole family out to experience this exciting adventure in the jungle. Tickets are $13.
“West Side Story” will be on stage at City Theater in Biddeford July 22 through Aug 7. Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday performances are at 2 p.m. with no performance on Sunday, July 24. For more information, call 282-0849 or go to www.citytheater.org.

Artwork by Kate Cargile will be on display at UNEBiddeford until July 2. Cargile’s work comprises a variety of media, including painting, printmaking and applique quilting – all inspired by her keen interest in literature, history and visual culture studies. The exhibit is free and open to the public. UNE’s Campus Center is located at 11 Hills Beach Road in Biddeford. An art show with works from Danie Connolly begins with a free reception on July 7 at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided, and the artist will answer questions. The art will remain on display for the month of July. The Kennebunk artist is a painter and photographer. Her upcoming photography exhibit, “Norman Rockwell’s Small Town America,” will feature local characters posing in “Saturday Evening Post” covers as a part of Kennebunk’s Norman Rockwell event this August. The Wells Public Library is located at 1434 Post Road, Route 1. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Wells Public Library.
