BRUNSWICK — In recent action, Brunswick High School girls jayvee lacrosse faced Lewiston, Yarmouth, Maranacook, along with Mt. Ararat twice.
While coming up short against Yarmouth, Maranacook and Lewiston, the Dragons played well, especially in the defensive end with strong performances by Holly Black, Rian Sachs, Emma Dorr, Hannah Day and Robyn Dumont.
The offense exploded with goals, coming from 15 different players over the five-game span. Finding the net were Emily Coffin, Atti Shepherd, Katherine Hartnett, Alex Wagner, Holly Black, Lydia Ginty, Beth Labbe, Emily Anderson, Bronte Fontaine, Anna Davis, Madeline Berry, Day, Sachs, Quinn Alexander and Harriet Peabody.
Against cross-town rival Mt. Ararat, the Dragons prevailed for the third time this season by a score of 8-6. Brunswick played a solid in the midfield with controlled passing and catching. Strong play came from Sachs and Shepherd.
Defensive standouts were Black, Dorr, Peabody, Robyn Dumont and Hannah Day.
Scoring was spread out among six players, with Shepherd and Alex Wagner scoring two goals each. Anderson, Labbe, Ginty and Berry finished the scoring with one each.
Amanda Cloutier stepped between the pipes late in the season and provided several qualify stops.
Brunswick finishes it season at home against Edward Little on Thursday.
