ALFRED — A June luncheon meeting in honor of Flag Day will be held by the Rebecca Emery Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution on June 4 at 11:30 a.m. at the Oak Street Bistro, 3 Oak St. The deadline for reservations is Saturday, May 28.
A program will be presented on the Flag of the United States of America by Chapter Flag Committee Chair Peggy Dunlap and Vice Regent Deb Bragdon.
A business meeting will follow at which time thank you and appreciation cards, letters and notes will be collected and delivered to Continental Congress, the DAR National Convention in Washington, D.C. in June.
They will be disbursed to members of the military to show the organization’s appreciation for their loyal service.
Also taking place will be an installation ceremony for the new chapter officers for 2016 to 2019 under the direction of Maine Honorary State Regent and past Librarian General Polly Bartow.
