DAMARISCOTTA — Celtic suo Magical Strings will perform at River Arts in Damariscotta on Sunday at 4 p.m.
Philip and Pam Boulding, who make up the Magical Strings, have toured internationally for 37 years and recorded over 20 albums on four labels. They perform on their own hand-crafted Celtic harps and hammered dulcimers along with whistles, accordion and concertina.
The Bouldings will play music inspired by their recent journeys to Ireland where they have spent time on The Burren exploring ancient mystical sites, the island of Skellig Michael (now made known to the world through the recent “Star Wars” film) and discovered cultural treasures off the Southwest coast of Ireland. This and more is reflected in their original songs, such as “The Hermit’s Cave,” “Cape Clear Suite” and “Fairy Wind.”
Tickets are available at the door for $10 per person. River Arts is located at 241 US Route 1 in Damariscotta. Gallery hours are Tuesday – Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. More information about River Arts events is available by calling (207) 563-1507, emailing info@riverartsme.org and visiting riverartsme.org
