BRUNSWICK — After serving the Brunswick community and beyond for seven years, Summer Island Studio and Gallery of Fine Artisans will be shutting the doors of its brick and mortar store in the Tontine Mall at the end of April, according to a news release.
Summer Island Studio, owned by Patti Baker, carries works from more than 80 artisans across the state of Maine.
Throughout the month of April, all merchandise at the store will be 15 percent off the ticketed price, with additional markdowns taken on specific items throughout the month. Baker urges anyone with a gift certificate for Summer Island Studio to use it before the end of the month.
Baker will be moving Summer Island Studio back to her home and will be working from there on her jewelry. For special orders, or to purchase a piece of ready-made jewelry, contact Baker at patti@summerislandstudio.com or through the contact form on her website at SummerIslandStudio.com.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
