BRUNSWICK — The Bowdoin College men’s lacrosse team scored the first six goals of the second half to pull away from Babson in an eventual 12-6 win on Tuesday evening at Ryan Field.

The 14th-ranked Polar Bears extended their win streak to six games and improved to 6-1 overall on the season. Babson fell to 1-6.

The teams traded goals in a low-scoring first half. Babson grabbed a 3- 2 lead on a man-up goal from Spencer Low with 5:48 remaining in the first half. Bowdoin was able to even the score 2:11 before the break as Matthew Crowell put home an unassisted goal.

Peter Reuter scored consecutive goals in the third quarter to spark Bowdoin’s decisive run. Daniel Buckman gave the Polar Bears a 6-3 lead late in the third quarter, and Shawn Daly scored three straight goals to open the fourth quarter as Bowdoin extended its lead to 9-3 with under 10 minutes to go.

Bowdoin put the game on ice with three straight scores.

Sam Carlin dominated on the face-off dot for Bowdoin, winning 16-of- 17 to control possession for the Polar Bears. Daly finished with a game-high four goals while Reuter, Crowell, Buckman and Wright each had two goals and an assist for Bowdoin

Peter Mumford made 13 saves in the victory for Bowdoin, while Jordan Shapiro stopped 11 for Babson.
