BRUNSWICK — McDonald’s General Manager Arthur “Buddy” Suttles was recently selected for the Fred L. Turner Award at a management training course held at McDonald’s Hamburger University in Oak Brook, Illinois.

The award is given to the overall top performer achieving the highest academic scores on exams. In addition, Suttles was one of four students who made the dean’s list of the 114 attending the week-long session.

Since November 2014, Suttles has served as general manager of the McDonald’s located at 154 Pleasant St., Brunswick. He first worked for McDonald’s as a crew person at the Gray restaurant in 2005.

Soon after completing college, he became a shift manager at the Yarmouth McDonald’s, moving on to the position of department manager in 2012, first in Yarmouth, then in Freeport.

Suttles is a volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House in Portland, and he lives in Topsham.

“Buddy being honored with the Fred L. Turner Award as a top performer is a testament to his work ethic and his commitment to excellence,” said Pleasant Street McDonald’s local owner/operator Ron Lydick. “We commend him on this achievement and anticipate he will continue to grow his career with us at McDonald’s.”
