Brewer man charged with child sex abuse

BREWER — A 37- year-old Brewer man was arrested Thursday and charged with sexual abuse of a young girl.

The suspect, a convicted sex offender who is employed at a local bakery, is also being investigated for possible possession of child pornography.

Investigators with the State Police Computer Crimes Unit arrested Ronald Boersma, 27 Glenwood Ave., at his home Thursday afternoon. The arrest came a day after his computer was seized from his home.

Investigators say they found child pornography on Boersma’s computer, but they plan to do further analysis before lodging additional charges. It is not known if any images of his victim were on his computer.
