Richmond Kindergarten Registration

The Marcia Buker School will hold Kindergarten Registration for the 2016-2017 school year on May 13. Children will be screened in the areas of health, language, motor skills, basic concept and social/emotional assessment. Oct. 15, 2016. Please bring your child with his/her birth certificate and immunization record to the registration. If your child is presently attending the Marcia Buker Preschool program you will not need to register.

Maine Odyssey of the Mind Teams qualify for State Tournament

Maine Odyssey of the Mind held it’s regional competitions on March 12 with one regional being held at the Brunswick High School. RSU1 (Bath, Phippsburg and Woolwich) had nine teams in the competition with five of them qualifying to advance to the State Tournament which will be held on April 2 at the Biddeford High School and Technical School. Advancing to the State Tournament are a team from Bath Middle School, a team from Fisher Mitchell School, a team from Phippsburg and two teams from Woolwich Central School. First and second place winners in each problem and division will be invited to attend Odyssey World Finals on the campus of Iowa State University in Ames, Iowalater in the spring.

RSU1 Math Teams

On March 8, the Southern Maine Elementary Math League held their third meet of the season in Portland. Fisher Mitchell’s 5th grade team took fifth place out of thirty teams. In the individual competition, Fisher Mitchell fifth graders Riley Dunn and Dalton Johnstone took first and fifth places, respectively.
