DAMARISCOTTA
Savory Maine Dining and Provisions, 11 Water St., Damariscotta, will host its monthly open mic on March 9 from 6:15-8:30 p.m. In case of snow, open mic will move a week to March 16 at the same times.
Savory Maine open mics are held on the second Wednesday of each month. Doors will open at 5 p.m. for food including quiches, haddock chowder and soup. Beer, wine, coffee, tea and more will be available for purchase all night.
Open mic is a series of eight-minute, two-song slots and is designed for individual or small group performances — musicians, singers, poets and other performers can sign up and demonstrate their talents. Because of Savory’s acoustics, amplification is not necessary.
Performers should be prepared to walk up on stage and set up quickly. To be assured of a slot, performers should sign up promptly from 6-6:15 p.m.
Savory Maine is open five days a week, serving lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The restaurant is closed Tuesday and Wednesday except for special events, such as the open mic.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
