BRUNSWICK — Mid Coast–Parkview Health will hold its annual Healthcare Career Day on March 23, 8:30-11:30 a.m. at Mid Coast Hospital, 123 Medical Center Drive in Brunswick. The informational open house gives interested individuals an opportunity to explore healthcare careers in the hospital setting.

Attendees will have the opportunity to explore career options, including nursing, pharmacy, laboratory, diagnostic imaging, rehabilitation and physician practices. Students and parents of public or private secondary schools within the Midcoast area may obtain more information about Healthcare Career Day from their guidance counselors and/or principals who have received details about the day’s program. Home schooled students or people thinking about changing careers are also welcome to attend.

Participants will have the opportunity to talk one-on-one with staff and employees who work throughout Mid Coast–Parkview Health, including Mid Coast Hospital, Mid Coast Medical Group, Mid Coast Senior Health Center, and CHANS Home Health Care. Staff will discuss how they obtained their chosen career, the educational requirements, and what the job entails. Many Mid Coast–Parkview Health employees are graduates of Maine colleges and technical schools. As part of the event, students will be given a tour of Mid Coast Hospital.
