BOSTON — Molly Gibeault soared to a personal best in the pole vault Friday to highlight the University of Southern Maine women’s track and field team’s performance in the first day of competition at the John Thomas Terrier Classic held at Boston University.
The event was a non team-scoring meet featuring some of the top collegiate and post-collegiate athletes in the nation.
Nicole Kirk and Peyton Dostie) had strong performances on the track. Kirk posted a time of 7.95 seconds in the 60-meter dash and 25.37 in the 200. Dostie was just a tick behind Kirk in the 200 results with a time of 25.38, and ran a 58.08 in the 400.
Former Brunswick High School standout Jasmine Boyle turned in a solid 5:21.99 in the mile. Her time qualified her for the New England Division III meet.
