WELLS — Four Massachusetts men and a fifth from Pennsylvania are being held at York County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail after they allegedly burst into a Littlefield Road home Sunday night and, armed with handguns and a knife, took $2,300 from the female resident.

No one was injured in the hold-up.

Wells Police Lt. Gerald Congdon said police believe the incident was an isolated and targeted event and there is no danger to the public. In a telephone interview this morning, he said it is thought the victim and the perpetrators knew each other.

He said the investigation is continuing and further charges against the five men may be pending. Congdon said Wells Police are working with other agencies on the investigation.

The alleged perpetrators were masked when they entered the home, police said.
