PORTLAND (AP) — Police in Portland are investigating a shooting and stabbing.
They said officers responded to the area of Market and Fore streets for reports of gunshots early Monday. They found a 22- year-old Westbrook man injured from an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to Maine Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Police said a 23-yearold Westbrook man who was seen fleeing the scene checked himself into the hospital for non-life-threatening stab wounds.
No charges have been filed pending further investigation.
