KENNEBUNK — Fire units from Kennebunk Fire and Rescue arrived to find a wood shop engulfed in heavy flames on Friday night. The fire at 76 Brown St., owned by Daniel and Miranda Nelson, was reported at approximately 10:30 p.m.

The wood shop was located in the rear of a two-story, barn-style garage, which was attached to the Nelson’s home, according to a statement from Arundel Fire Rescue Spokesman Dep. Chief Justin Cooper.

The main fire, which was isolated to the wood shop and part of the main garage, was knocked down quickly, according to Cooper. There was smoke damage to the homeowners’ business office on the second floor of the garage.

The fire did not spread to the main house, so the homeowners were able to remain in their home on Friday. No one was injured in the fire.

Wells and Arundel fire departments were also called to the scene.
