PORTLAND — No court decision was made Wednesday regarding Parkview Adventist Hospital’s bankruptcy.
In June, Parkview filed for Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code with the United States Bankruptcy Court in Portland. Under Chapter 11, the hospital would be given the opportunity to restructure their debt or seek other lines of capital.
Parkview has since entered into a transaction with Mid Coast Hospital, hammering out a plan that would keep Parkview and its Adventist identity viable while transferring many of its services to Mid Coast.
Mid Coast spokesman Steve Trockman said proceedings will continue Thursday morning, but was unsure when a decision will be reached.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
