James Russell Peacock Jr., 86, of Dunedin, FL, and formerly of Georgetown, ME, died on Thursday, July 30, 2015, surrounded by his family. Jim was born on Sept. 29, 1928, in Boston, MA, to James and Beatrice Peacock.
He grew up in Braintree, MA, with three younger brothers. He served as a Navy Air crewman, a veteran of the Korean War. He attended New England School of Art and Butera School of Art and later owned and managed Potter Sign Co. in Peabody, MA. After he retired, Jim operated Birds and Boards in Woolwich, ME, where he was an artist and carved decorative birds and signs.
Jim is survived by his wife Roselene of Dunedin, FL; son James III and wife Lynn of Argyle, TX; daughter Judith of San Antonio, TX; son Jeffrey and wife Michelle of Freeport, ME; his brother David and wife Gail; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 19 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Bath, ME, followed by burial at Mountainside Cemetery in Georgetown, ME. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Diabetes Association.
