BRUNSWICK — Genevieve Clark, 91, a resident of Thornton Way in Brunswick, died on Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, at Horizons Living and Rehabilitation Center in Brunswick following a brief illness. She was born on April 14, 1924, in Niagara Falls, NY, a daughter of Earl W. and Edna B. (Barber) Clark.

Genevieve received a B.S. degree in meteorology from the University of New Hampshire and received a M.A. degree in geology from Clark University. She was employed for many years as a teacher in Framingham, MA, retiring on June 29, 1984.

She was an active volunteer in the community with the Brunswick Historical Society. She was also active with the Mid Coast Chamber Orchestra, Monday Chamber Players, Running Start Program, Merrymeeting Health and Fitness Center where she played tennis and was also part of several other Maine and national groups concerned with preservation and environmental issues, art and music.

Genevieve was predeceased by her partner of 57 years, Carolla Haglund, who died in 2007. Together with Corolla, Gen had traveled extensively to many European countries including Sweden, Norway, United Kingdom, Italy, France, Spain and Switzerland. They enjoyed entertaining friends and family on the deck of their oceanfront home “Windfall” that they owned together in East Boothbay.

There will be no funeral service held. Interment will be held on the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery in Salem, NH.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Brackett Funeral Home in Brunswick.
