SUSAN PERRINE, of Woolwich, holds out a rather unique jacket she had on display during the third annual Fiber Craft Fair at Halcyon Yarn in Bath on Wednesday afternoon. Perrine created her first “book” dress, by cutting up children’s board books and shingling and stiching each piece onto a silk slip. Since then she has also created a jacket, a skirt and tunic. “It’s fun, because kids come by and recognize the (characters),” she said. Perrine’s other works, which included twig garden structures, woven pieces, jewelry and other accessories, were also on display. More than 20 artists from all over Maine were present at Wednesday’s fair to exhibit handmade crafts and other unique art pieces, including garments, rugs, glasswork, floor cloths, tools clay and more.
