HARPSWELL — The Harpswell Concert Band will host a children’s concert on Thursday, July 23. There will be a special presentation of Sergei Prokofiev’s “Peter and the Wolf,” narrated by local celebrity Beth Muldoon with Prokofiev’s music directed by Bob Modr. Also included in the evening’s repertoire will be Richard and Robert Sherman’s “It’s a Small World,” Mel Brook’s “Blazing Saddles,” John Williams Overture “The Cowboy,” “ I Love A Parade” and Leroy Anderson’s “Irish Washerwoman.”
The concert takes place 6 p.m. at the Harpswell Bandstand by the Sea, Mitchell Field, Route 123. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will take place at the Harpswell Coastal Academy gym.
