SACO — The 70th New England Interscholastic Track and Field Outdoor Championships were held at Thornton Academy on Saturday.
Lake Region High School of Bridgton’s Kate Hall had a solid day. She won the 100-meter dash in a meet record time of 11.41, and followed up by finishing second in the 200 to Quashira McIntosh of Hope, R.I. Both McIntosh and Hall eclipsed the meet record in the event, with McIntosh finishing in 23.64 and Hall right behind in 23.69.
Hall also broke the meet record in winning the long jump with a leap of 20-11.
Also in the girls meet, Brunswick’s Tessa Cassidy finished 10th in the 3,200 in 11:30.29, while Ayanna Main of Wiscasset was 26th in the triple jump (32-04).
In the boys meet, Lewiston’s Isaiah Harris won the 800 in 1:52.74, South Portland’s Daniel Guiliani took the shot put in a meet record 64-02.25, and Jack Bouchard of York captured the javelin (196-01).
From the Mid-coast area, Brunswick’s Keenan Welzel and Christopher Tanner ran the 400, with Welzel finishing in 51.01 for 14th and Tanner crossing in 51.76 for 21st.
