Leavitt’s health center receives dental grant

Leavitt’s Mill Free Health Center, 63 Main St., in Buxton has been awarded a $5,000 grant by Northeast Delta Dental Foundation, Inc.

“This investment will be used to purchase needed dental supplies to support restorative dental work done for their patients by the center’s volunteer dental team,” the health center announced. “Dental health is essential to overall health, and good dental care can improve health outcomes, self-esteem and employability.”

The upgrading of the dental operatory will allow the health center to provide state-of-the-art health care for its patients.

The Northeast Delta Dental Foundation works to improve access to, and the quality of, oral health care and education for the public and the dental community in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.

“We are proud to partner with Leavitt’s Mill Free Health Center to help improve the oral and overall health of their patient population,” said Crystal Carroll, manager of community relations at Northeast Delta Dental. “At Northeast Delta Dental, we know that healthcare costs can be a barrier to systemic health and we applaud LMFHC’s efforts.”
