A partnership between the Kennebec Estuary Land Trust and Patten Free Library will bring the magic of storytime to nature.

The groups have planned two programs — to take place from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesdays, May 12 and 26 — that will offer spring-themed stories and activities for children 6 years old and younger at two KELT sites. Participants will investigate spring events — the forest understory and tadpoles — through stories, crafts, and outdoor, hands-on exploration. KELT Education Coordinator Becky Kolak will lead the programs, in which parents are welcomed and encouraged to take part.

The May 12 program, titled “Forest Floor Frolic,” will take place at Sewall Woods Preserve, while the May 26 program, titled “Funny Frogs & Tiny Tadpoles,” will take place at Thorne Head Preserve.

To sign-up, contact the Patten Free Library’s Children’s Room at 443-5141 or childrens@ patten.lib.me.us. These programs are sponsored by the Davenport Trust Fund.
