BOWDOINHAM
The Board of Selectmen are holding a public hearing today on the draft June 10 town meeting warrant.
The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. at Coombs Municipal Building, located at 13 School St.
Included in the draft warrant is a proposed $1.58 million municipal budget for 2015-16, a 0.7 percent increase from the current fiscal year budget.
Selectmen will also be taking comment on several proposed amendments to the land use ordinance. The amendments would revise shoreland zoning provisions required by state law and floodplain provisions required by federal law.
Other amendments would authorize the board of appeals to grant disability variances in certain circumstances, increase lot coverage for legally non-conforming lots in the residential/agricultural district, revise performance standards for and exempt municipal and state signs, add and clarify various land uses and associated site plan performance standards, and revise development standards in areas of special flood hazard to increase required elevations for new construction.
After the board votes on approving the 2015 annual town meeting warrant, it will discuss meeting with the town’s school board representatives for School Administrative District 75. dmoore@timesrecord.com
