TOPSHAM — Deborah Ann (Debbie) Kelly, age 58, died at a local hospital on Tuesday, March 3, 2015.

She was born on Oct. 9, 1956, in New Haven, CT, the daughter of Joseph E. and Norma Lavallee Quinn.

She grew up in Pawtucket, RI, graduating from William E. Tolman Senior High School, where she met her husband Donald Kelly. The high school sweethearts were married in Pawtucket on April 3, 1976.

Following graduation she worked as a long distance telephone operator, until her unique gift for creative crafting took hold. Upon arriving in Maine in 1989, she regularly attended and offered her crafts at the Cumberland County Craft Show and the Fryeburg Fair for over 20 years. She was a member of the United Maine Craftsmen and the Society of Southern Maine Craftsmen. Although her crafts were an important part of her life, her true passion was her family.

She was a member of St. John’s Church, Brunswick, and had spent time earlier in life fundraising for the American Cancer Society. She was also an advocate for the Prolife movement for many years. Above all else, she lived life in each moment and practiced appreciating her loved ones every day — an example she hoped they will continue to share.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Monday, March 9, 2015, at Saint John’s Catholic Church, Pleasant Street, Brunswick. Interment will take place in St. John’s Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The American Life League (www.all.org).
