PORTLAND — TJ Sullivan scored with 43 seconds remaining in overtime to lift the Brunswick High School boys hockey team to a 4-3 victory over Portland/Deering on Monday at Portland Ice Arena.

Down 3-2 late in regulation after Bulldogs forward Mason Martell put the hosts up by a goal with 1:41 left, the Dragons (10-7) pulled goaltender Devin Allard (22 saves) and scored the tying goal with 35 seconds left on a Nate Granholm tally. Quinn Solberg, who took the orginial shot, was credited with the assist.

In overtime, Sullivan received a rink-wide pass from Jacob McGowan before slipping a shot past Portland/Deering goaltender Alex Gorsch (28 saves).

Jared Parent scored the first two goals, with Sullivan and McGowan assisting, as the Dragons carried a two-goal lead. But, the Bulldogs made a comeback behind Martell, who scored off assists from Dominic Tucci and Cameron King, to make for a 2-1 game after two periods.

King, assisted by Martell and Tucci, tied the game 2:02 into the third, and Peter Barry passed to Martell for a 3-2 lead.

“The boys showed a lot of resilience after a tough weekend,” said Brunswick coach Bill Bodwell, whose Dragons hosts Cony/Monmouth today in Lewiston at 3:50 p.m.
