PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — Ethan O’Day scored 15 points, Dre Wills chipped in 14 and Vermont coasted to a 68-54 victory over Maine on Wednesday night.

O’Day made 7 of 10 shots from the field, and Wills finished on 6-of-8 shooting and with six boards and five assists. Cam Ward added 12 points for Vermont, which shot 26 of 47 for 55.3 percent from the field.

Vermont led 28-26 at the break and opened the second on a 31-10 run, with 13 points by O’Day, to stretch its lead to 59-36 with 6:57 to go.

Vermont (6-8, 2-0 America East Conference) had 40 points in the paint, and Maine finished with 18.

Shaun Lawton and Till Gloger each scored 12 points to lead Maine (1-13, 0-2). Kevin Little had nine points and four assists for the Black Bears.
