BATH — The Morse High School girls jayvee basketball team came up short in a 28-26 loss to Mt. View on Friday at Bath Middle School.
Down by two with 25 seconds remaining, the Shipbuilders (2-3) had four possessions to tie the contest or take the lead. A pair of missed free throws after hurt Morse.
Megan Curtis and Hope Faulkingham had seven points each for Morse, while Isabella Monbouquette chipped in five and Sara Graves four.
Mt. View, which trailed 5-4 after a quarter, led 16-13 at the half and 24-19 after three, was paced by Teri Strain and Nikki Skolfield with eight points apiece. Taylor Thayer chipped in six points.
